› Game Mechanics

Each of the three characters in the game excels at an ability which the others do not posses, and is weak in all other areas, forcing cooperation among the players. One character has the ability to manipulate and carry objects, one has strong observational skills and is able to find clues in the environment, and the third can talk to people, animals, plants, and even objects. All three characters can walk around the map and travel through time.

The Manipulator's role is to affect physical changes in the environment through lifting, pushing, and carrying objects. Any object that can be carried can also be brought through time. The manipulator is limited in the size of objects s/he can carry, as well as the weight of the object they can push, pull, and lift.

The Observer has the ability to sense auras around important objects and people. They are needed to spot clues in the environment, whether it be something broken that needs fixing, a person in the environment that possesses information, or identifying objects that need to be matched together.

The Talker is the only character that can speak to people and objects. Not only do they have the ability to learn information when talking to a person or thing in the stage, but they can also influence behaviors and actions through their sociability. Through interaction, the Talker can learn languages to develop their ability to communicate.

Time Guyz is designed such that each quest requires multiple steps in the different time periods using each character's different abilities. To promote humility, some quests are designed to more heavily favor one or two characters more than the other(s).
