› Plot
Time Guyz is a game about preventing the apocalypse. Three female characters are sent from the future and must change the course of history which led to global devastation. The game was conceived to take place in three time periods—1920, 1950, and 1990—to which the characters could travel. For the prototype of the game only the 1950s and 1990s will be used.
The action takes place in a single location as seen through these different temporal periods. Players take action in each of the time periods to affect change in the timeline. As the most basic example, a player in 1920 plants a tree which grows to medium size by 1950 and full size in 1990. The effects of the past are seen immediately in the future.
Each of the three female characters are restricted to only one ability as a result of the effects of time travel. They aren't able to fully project their body's into the past, so one takes up observing, one talking, and one manipulating objects. These women are only referred to as the Talker, Observer, and Manipulator.
The goal of the game prototype is to get inside the warehouse in the 1990s. Inside this warehouse a company is producing fake immunizations that precipitate a health crisis contributing to the human apocalypse. In the 1990s the building is inhabited by a drug company, but in the 1950s it is just a tiny shed on a plot of land under construction. Players must figure out who is beyond the manipulation of the drug manufacture into placebos, and change the formula so that the factory produces what it's supposed to and the health crisis can be averted.
However, in order to get into the warehouse the players will need to accomplish a number of tasks in the town. By speaking to and observing characters in the town the player gets caught up in the drama between characters and must solve (or create) problems to serve the final goal of finding a way into the warehouse. These events are outlined on the quest page.
